who is eligible

First Heritage serves the following community field of membership: Persons who live, work, worship or attend school in the three county community, comprised of Steuben and Chemung Counties, New York and Tioga County, Pennsylvania, as well as their immediate family members.*

Joining the Credit Union is Easy

Becoming a member is easy. Your Share Savings account is your First Heritage membership account—the key that opens the door to all your valuable member benefits. By opening this account, you become a First Heritage owner, as well as a member. You must maintain a minimum of $5.00 in your Share Savings account.

If you do not fall within one of these specific membership categories, you may send us an e-mail or contact us at one of the numbers listed on our site and we will assist you with determining your membership eligibility.

*Immediate family member is defined as spouse, sibling, children, parent, grandparent, or grandchild. For our membership purposes, immediate family member includes stepparent, stepchildren, stepsiblings, and adoptive relationships in this definition.

Household is defined as persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit. Membership eligibility is extended only to individuals who are members of an immediate family or household of an eligible credit union member.

Remember, it is not necessary for the primary eligible member to join the Credit Union in order for the immediate family member to join
