2025 Board of Directors Nominations

Nomination Process and Procedures:

Credit union election procedures require any nominee to meet with the nominating committee, to review his or her potential candidacy. At this meeting, the duties, liabilities and responsibilities of directors will be discussed. Arrangements for such meetings may be made by writing to the Nominating Committee, First Heritage Federal Credit Union, 202 Denison Pkwy E, Corning, New York 14830.

The nominee must certify in writing, on a form prescribed by the National Credit Union Administration and the Board of Directors, that he or she has agreed to abide by the legal responsibilities of a board member, is agreeable to nomination, and will serve if elected to office. If the member refuses to sign any of the documents, he or she shall be deemed to have refused consideration for the nomination.

Once the certification is complete, petition forms will be available from the board secretary. The member must then obtain at least 497 valid, verified signatures of members, age 18 and above, who are in good standing. The petition must be submitted and reviewed before the nomination will be effective. Completed petitions must be returned to the board secretary no later than 5 PM, January 31, 2024. Names of nominees will be posted in each Credit Union office on March 1, 2024.

Election Procedures:

If an election is necessary, the following procedures will take place at the Annual Meeting:

“All elections shall be determined by plurality of vote and shall be by ballot except where there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. Nominations shall not be made from the floor unless sufficient nominations have not been made by the nominating committee or by petition to provide for one nominee for a position to be filled. In the event nominations from the floor, where permitted herein, result in more than one nominee for a position to be filled, and when nominations have been closed, tellers shall be appointed by the President, ballots shall be distributed, and the vote shall be taken and tallied by the tellers, and the results announced. When only one member is nominated for each position to be filled, the chair may take a voice vote or declare each nominee elected by general consent or acclamation at the Annual Meeting.
